Use on: New interior surfaces such as new gypsum wallboard, textured sheetrock, and wood trim, doors and cabinetry.
Surface preparation: Surfaces should be sanded and free of dirt, grease, mildew and oil. Before application, clean with pressurized air and/or odorless, dye-free, all-purpose diluted cleaner such as Healthier Clean All Purpose Cleaner. (Note: Surfaces painted with water- or oil-based finishes should be primed with Healthier Homes Reno + Remodel Primer.) Surfaces should be completely dry before paint application. To achieve a consistent finish, the surface must be evenly primed. Achieve the best finish with one primer coat and two finish coats. Always ensure adequate ventilation. Do not apply on cold, humid days and/or if the surface, air or container temperature is below 55°F. Turning on the HVAC following application is recommended for proper curing.
Application: Apply one coat of primer. Allow 24 hours to dry. Follow with two coats of Healthier Homes Real Zero VOC interior paint.
Before using, stir well, then apply with a clean, high-quality nylon or synthetic bristle brush or roller (1/4”-3/8” nap recommended). Multiple thin coats are better than one thick coat. For full-coverage application, overlap preceding application with ¼ to ½ the fan width. Fan lines should disappear after the second coat is dry.
Coverage: One gallon of Healthier Homes New Construction Primer covers approximately 350 square feet per coat, depending on surface porosity.
Spraying specs: Use an airless sprayer and painter’s masks to avoid accidental inhalation. Reduce paint with up to 1/2 pint of water per gallon as needed. Airless sprayers should use a 17/1000 to 21/1000 tip. Reversible tips are best. Use only 30 mesh high pressure filters. For best coverage, spray 18" from surface.
Dry time: Under normal conditions, Healthier Homes New Construction Primer can accept top coats after 4 hours and fully cures and bonds over a 7-day period. Normal conditions include a dry surface, fresh air flow, moderate to low humidity, and temperatures above 55°F. Thick application, high humidity, or conditions other than normal may cause paint to dry slower and/or cure improperly.
Cleanup: Clean equipment while still wet. For best results, use a solution of Healthier Clean All Purpose Cleaner and warm water.
No special disposal requirements: For disposal, leave the lids off so that unused product hardens. Dispose of it in your normal garbage.
